INTRODUCTION
Contratulations on your purchase of the RM912TH RF Clock with temperature
reading. The RM912TH is a multifunction.Radio Frequency (RF) controlled
clock with temperature.
The RM912TH is a multifunction, RF-controlled clock. It can automatically
synchronize its current time and date when it is brought within an approximate
1500km radius of the radio signal generated from Frankfurt, Germany (DCF77).
Other features of the RM912TH include: displaying the current indoor
temperature, a current date display , a backlight for night time viewing, daily
cresendo alarm with eight-minute snooze function.

BATTERY INSTALLATION [Fig.2]
1. Lift open the battery compartment.
2. Insert two UM4 or AAA-size batteries.
3. Replace the battery compartment door. Replace the batteries when the

HOW TO USE THE BACKLIGHT
Press the [SNOOZE/LIGHT] button once. The backlight will be turned on for
five seconds.
CALENDAR AND ALARM TIME DISPLAY
The calendar and alarm time share the same section of display. The calendar is
displayed in day-month format. When the calendar is displayed, pressing
[ALARM] once will change the display to the alarm time. Another press on the
button will activate the alarm. A third press will deactivate it.
To display the calendar, press [CLOCK] once.

ABOUT RADIO RECEPTION [Fig.4]
The RM912TH is designed to automatically synchronize its calendar clock once
it is brought within range of the Frankfurt DCF77 radio signal.
When the RM912TH is within range, the radio-controlled mechanism will over-
ride all manual settings.
When the unit is receiving radio signal, the radio-reception Signal will start to
blink. Generally, complete reception take 2 to 10 minutes depending on the
strength of the radio signal.
When the reception is complete, the radio-reception Signal will stop blinking.
For better reception, place the clock away from metal objects and electrical
appliances to minimize interference.
If you wish to disable the auto-reception feature, press the [

] and [
▼
]
buttons simultaneously for two seconds. The radio-reception Signal [ ] will
not blink. The unit will not respond to radio signals.
To enable the feature again, hold down the buttons again. The radio-reception
signal will start blinking to initiate reception automatically.
HOW TO SET THE CALENDAR CLOCK
MANUALLY
When the calendar is displayed, press [CLOCK] for two seconds. The month
digits will start to blink.
Enter the month using the [
▲
] and [
▼
] buttons. Hold down either button to
rapidly increase or decrease the value.
Press [CLOCK] to confirm and proceed to set the day, display language, day-
of-the-week, hour and minute.
For the display language, you can choose between English and German. Select
E for English or D for German.
The day-of-the-week display for both languages is as follows-[Fig.5]
After setting the minutes, press [CLOCK] to return to normal display. If changes
are made during the process, the seconds will reset and start from zero.
TIME DISPLAY MODE
When the display is in calendar mode, press [CLOCK] once, to change be-
tween the hour, minute, seconds, display or hour, minute, Day-of-Week display.

HOW TO SET AND ACTIVATE THE ALARM
While in alarm colck mode, press and hold [ALARM] for two seconds the hour
digits will flash.
Enter the value for the hour digits. Press [ALARM] to confirm and go to the
minute digits. Enter the value and press [ALARM] to confirm.
The alarm is automatically activated. To deactivate it, press [ALARM] once.
ALARM AND SNOOZE FUNCTION
When the alarm is active, it will go off at the set time. The display will light up
for five seconds with the ALARM ON icon flashing.
The crescendo function allows the alarm to start off gently and step up its inten-
sity in three steps. Without interruption, the alarm will go off for a minute.
To stop the alarm, press any key. If the [SNOOZE/LIGHT] button is pressed,
the SNOOZE function will be triggered. The alarm will stop for eight minutes
before going off again.
INDOOR TEMPERATURE
The temperature is shown in Centigrades (°C). The RM912TH is capable of
measuring temperatures within the -5°C (+23°F) and +50°C (+122°F) range. If
the temperature goes above or below that, the display will show "HHH" or "LLL".
MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM TEMPERATURES
The maximum and minimum recorded temperatures will be automatically stored
in memory. To display them, press [MEMORY] to rotate through the maxi-
mum, minimum and current temperatures. The respective MAX or MIN indica-
tor will be displayed.
To clear the memory, hold down [MEMORY] for two seconds. The maximum
and minimum temperatures will be erased. If you press [MEMORY] now, the
maximum and minimum temperatures will have the same values as the current
ones until different readings are recorded.

HOW TO RESET THE UNIT
The RESET button allows you to return all settings to its factory values, which
are 1997 for year, 1-1 (1st of January) for date, 12:00 for time and 06:00 for the
alarm, which will be deactivated.
The button is required only when the unit is not operating in a favorable way,
such as in the rare case of a malfunction.
PRECAUTIONS
This unit is engineered to give you years of satisfactory service if you handle it
carefully. Here are a few precautions:
1.
Do not immerse the unit in water. If you spill liquid over it, dry it immedi-
ately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
2.
Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive materials. They may scratch
the plastic parts and corrode the electronic circuit.
3.
Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust, temperature or hu-
midity, which may result in malfunction, shorter electronic life span, dam-
aged battery and distorted parts.
4.
Do not tamper with the unit's internal components. Doing so will invali-
date the warranty on the unit and may cause unnecessary damage. The
unit contains no user-serviceable parts.
5.
Only use fresh batteries as specified in the user's instructions. Do not mix
new and old batteries as the old ones may leak.
6.
Always read the user's instructions thoroughly before operating the unit.

Nous vous félicitons d’avoir fait l’acquisition de la pendule RM912TH RF avec
relevé de température.
Le Réveil Radio Piloté le RM912TH est un Réveil pouant pendule contrôlée par
RF, multi-fonctions. Elle peut synchroniser automatiquement l'heure actuelle et
la date quand elle se trouve dans un rayon de 1500 km anviron des signaux radio
générés depuis Francfort, Allemagne (DCF77).
Les autres caractéristiques comprennent rétro-éclairage, alarme quotidienne cre-
scendo avec fonction de répétition de réveil huit minutes et un affichage à cristaux
liquides LCD deux-lignes.

2. Installez deux piles UM4 ou LR03.

COMMENT UTILISER L'ECLAIRAGE
Appuyez une fois sur [SNOOZE/LIGHT]. La lumière s'allumera pendant cinq
secondes.
AFFICHAGE DU CALENDRIER ET DE L'HEURE
D'ALARME
Le calendrier et l'heure d'alarme se partagent la même section de l'afficheur. Le
calendrier est affiché dans le format jour-mois. Quand le calendrier est affiché,
appuyez sur [ALARM] une fois pour passer à l'affichage de l'heure d'alarme.
Appuyez une deuxième fois sur la commande pour activer l'alarme. Appuyez
dessus une troisième fois pour l'annuler.
Pour afficher le calendrier, appuyez une fois sur [CLOCK].

RECEPTION DE LA RADIO [Fig.4]
Le RM912TH est conçu pour synchroniser automatiquement la pendule et le
calendrier quand elle se trouve à portée des signaux radio DCF77 de Francfort..
Quand le RM912TH se trouve dans ce rayon, le mécanisme radio-pilotè annule
tous les réglages manuels.
Dès réception d’un signal radio, le signal de reception radio se met à clignoter.
Selon la force des signaux radio, une réception complète demande généralement
2 à 10 minutes.
Quand la réception a été établie, le signal de reception radio cesse de clignoter.
Pour une meilleure réception, placer la pendule à l’écart d’objets métalliques et
appareils électriques afin de minimiser les interférences.
Pour désarmer la fonction d'auto-réception, appuyer simultanément sur [
▲
] et
[
▼
] pendant deux secondes. Le signal d'auto-réception [ ] ne clignotera pas.
L'appareil ne répondra pas aux signaux radio.
Pour activer de nouveau cette fonction, appuyer encore une fois sur les
commandes. Le signal de réception de la radio se mettra à clignoter pour initialiser
automatiquement la réception.
COMMENT REGLER MANUELLEMENT LA
PENDULE CALENDRIER
Quand le calendrier est affiché, appuyer sur [CLOCK] pendant deux secondes.
Les chiffres de l'année se mettront à clignoter.
Entrer l'année à l'aide des commandes [
▲
] et [
▼
] . Appuyer sans lâcher sur
ces commandes pour augmenter ou diminuer rapidement les valeurs.
Appuyer sur [CLOCK] pour confirmer et procéder dans l'ordre suivant: mois,
date, mode d'affichage, jour de semaine, heures et minutes. Entrer les réglages à
l'aide de la commande [
▲
]. La commande [
▼
] sera désactivée.
Les langues d'affichages sont l'anglais ou l'allemend au choix. Sélectionner E
pour l'anglais ou D pour l'allemand.
Les jours de semaine sont affichés de la façon suivante-[Fig.5]
Apräs avoir réglé les minutes, appuyer sur [CLOCK] pour retourner à l'affichage
normal. Si des modifications sont effectuées durant ce processus, les secondes
seront et remises à zéro.
MODES D'AFFICHAGE DE L'HEURE
Quand le calendrier est affiché, appuyez une fois sur [CLOCK] pour passer du
mode heures-minutes-secondes au mode heures-minutes-jour de semaine et vice-
versa. L'heure est affichée dans le format 24 heures.
Quand l'heure d'alarme est affichée, appuyez une fois sur [CLOCK] pour afficher
le calendrier. Puis passez d'un mode à l'autre à l'aide de cette commande.

COMMENT REGLER ET ARMER L'ALARME
Pour régler l'alarme, appuyez sur [ALARM] pendant deux secondes pour afficher
l'heure d'alarme.
Entrez les heures. Appuyez sur [ALARM] pour confirmer et passer aux min-
utes. Entrez la valeur et appuyez sur [ALARM] pour confirmer.
L'alarme est activée automatiquement. Pour l'annuler, appuyez une fois sur
[ALARM].
ALARME ET REPETITION DE REVEIL
Une fois activée, l'alarme de déclenchera à l'heure prévue. L'affichage s'allumera
pendant cinq secondes et l'icône ALARM ON clignotera.
La fonction de crescendo permet à l'alarme de se déclencher en douceur et de
s'intensifer en trois étapes. L'alarme, ininterrompue, dure une minute.
Pour arrêter l'alarme, appuyez sur n'importe quelle commande. Pour déclencher
la fonction de répétition de réveil, appuyez sur la commande [SNOOZE/
LIGHT]. L'alarme s'interrompra pendant huit minutes avant de se redéclencher.
TEMPERATURES INTERIEURE
La température est indiquée en centigrades (°C). Le RM912TH peut relever les
températyures dans un rayon de -5°C à +50°C. Si la température est supérieure
ou inférieure à ces limites, l'affichage annonce : "HHH" (Haut) ou "LLL" (Bas).
TEMPERATURES MAXIMUM ET MINIMUM
Les températures minimum et maximum enregistrées seront automatiquement
stockées en mémoire. Pour les afficher, appuyez sur [MEMORY] pour passer
de la température maximum aux températures minimum et actuelle. Les
indicateurs MAX et MIN respectifs seront affichés.
Pour annuler la mémoire, appuyer sur [MEMORY] pendant deux secondes.
Les températures minimum et maximum seront effacées. Si vous appuyez au
même moment sur [MEMORY], les températures minimum et maximum auront
la màme valeur que la température actuelle, jusqu'à ce que des relevés différents
soient enregistrés.

COMMENT REENCLENCHER L'APPAREIL
La commande RESET permet de retourner tous les réglages à leurs valeurs
usine qui sont les suivantes : 1997 pour l'année, 1-1 (1er janvier) pour la date,
12:00 pour l'heure et 06:00 pour l'alarme et qui seront désactivées.
Cette commande ne s'utilise que lorsque l'appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement
comme, par exemple, dans le cas exceptionnel d'un défaut de fonctionnement.
PRECAUTIONS
Cet appareil a été conçu pour vous offrir des années de service satisfaisant à
condition de le manipuler avec précaution. A cet effet :

Ne pas immerger l'appareil au cas ou vous enverseriez un liquide
accidentellement, l'essuyer sans délai à l'aide d'un chiffon doux non
pelucheux.
2.
Ne pas nettoyer l'appareil avec des produits abrasifs ou corrosifs. Ils risquent
de rayer les parties de plastique et de corroder le circuit électronique.
3.
Ne pas soumettre l'appareil à des coups, chocs, poussière, températures ou
humidité excessives ce qui risquerait d'en empêcher le bon fonctionnement,
raccourcir la vie des composants électroniques, abîmer les piles et

4.

garantie de l'appareil et risquerait d'endommager inutilement celui-ci. Cet

5.
N'utiliser que des piles neuves du type spécifié par le fabriquant. Ne pas
mélanger piles usagées et piles neuves car les vieilles piles risquent de fuir.
6.
Ne pas néglier de lire attentivement les instructions avant d'utiliser l'appareil.

EINLEGEN DER BATTERIEN [Fig.2]
1. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach.
2. Legen Sie die Batterien des Typs UM4 oder "AAA" entsprechend der
angezeigten Polarität ein.
3. Schließen Sie das Batteriefach wieder. Erneuern Sie die Batterien , wenn die

ACHTUNG: Verbrauchte Batterien gehören nicht in den Hausmüll. Bitte geben
Sie diese an den dafür vorgesehenen Sammelstellen ab.
DER EINSATZ DER ANZEIGEBELEUCHTUNG
Betätigen Sie die (SNOOZE/LICHT)-Taste (Schlummerlicht) einmal. Die
Anzeigebeleuchtung bleibt nun ca. 5 Sekunden lang eingeschaltet.
DATUM- UND ALARMZEIT-ANZEIGE
Die Datum- und Alarmzeitanzeige teilen sich das gleiche Anzeigefeld. Die
Datumanzeige erfolgt im Format "Tag-Monat". Betätigen sie die [ALARM]-
Taste einmal während die Datumanzeige erscheint um die Alarmzeit aufzurufen.
Durch nochmaliges Betätigen der Taste wird die Alarmfunktion aktiviert.
Betätigen Sie die Taste ein drittes Mal, um die Alarmfunktion wieder zu
deaktivieren.
Betätigen Sie die [CLOCK]-Taste einmal, um die Datumanzeige aufzurufen.

HINWEISE ZUM EMPFANG DES ZEITSIGNALS

Die RM912TH synchronisiert automatisch die Uhrzeit und das Datum, sobald
sich die Uhr im Sendebereich des Zeitsenders DCF77 in Frankfurt befindet.
Wenn sich das Gerät im Sendebereich des Senders befindet, synchronisiert es
alle manuell vorgenommenen Einstellungen.
Sobald das Gerät ein Zeitsignal empfängt, beginnt der zeitsignal-indikator zu
blinken. Ein vollständiger Empfang des Zeitsignals dauert, abhängig von der
Stärke des Signals, ca. 2 bis 10 Minuten.
Der zeitsignal-indikator blinkt nicht mehr, sobald der Empfang abgeschlossen
ist.
Um einen besseren Empfang zu gewährleisten sollten Sie die Uhr nicht in der
Nähe von metallischen Gegenständen oder elektrischen Geräten aufstellen, um
Interferenzen zu vermeiden.

Der Funksignal-Empfangsindikator beginnt nun zu blinken, und der Empfang
wird automatisch wieder aktiviert.
MANUELLE EINSTELLUNG VON UHRZEIT UND
DATUM
Drücken Sie 2 Sekunden lang die [CLOCK]-Taste während die Datumanzeige
erscheint. Die Anzeigestellen für den Monat beginnen nun zu blinken.
Stellen Sie die Anzeige für den Monat mittels der [
▲
] - und [
▼
]-Tasten ein.
Halten Sie die Tasten gedrückt, um die Anzeige beschleunigt aufwärts oder
abwärts einzustellen.
Betätigen Sie die [CLOCK]-Taste, um die Einstellung zu bestätigen und fahren
Sie anschließend mit der Einstellung des Tages, der Anzeigesprache, des
Wochentages sowie der Stunden und Minuten fort.
Sie können zwischen Englisch und Deutsch als Anzeigesprache wählen:"E" für
Englisch,"D" für Deutsch

Betätigen Sie die [CLOCK]-Taste, um nach der Einstellung der Minutenanzeige
wieder in die Normalzeit-Anzeige zu schalten. Wenn Änderungen der
Einstellungen vorgenommen wurden, wird die Sekundenanzeige auf Null gesetzt
und beginnt anschließend aufwärts zu zählen.
ZEITANZEIGE-MODI
Betätigen Sie die [CLOCK]-Taste einmal von der Datumanzeige aus, um
zwischen dem Anzeigemodus für "Stunden-Minuten-Sekunden" oder "Stunden-
Minuten-Wochentag" umzuschalten. Die Zeit wird im 24-Stunden-
Anzeigeformat dargestellt.
Betätigen Sie die [CLOCK]-Taste einmal, um alternativ die Datumanzeige
aufzurufen während die Alarmzeit erscheint. Betätigen Sie die Taste anschließend
nochmals, um wieder zur Normalzeit-Anzeige zurückzuschalten.

EINSTELLEN UND AKTIVIEREN DER
ALARMFUNKTIONEN
Halten Sie die [ALARM]-Taste ca. zwei Sekunden lang gedrückt, um die
Alarmzeit einzustellen während die Alarmzeit erscheint.
Stellen Sie die Stundenanzeige ein. Betätigen Sie die [ALARM]-Taste einmal,
um die Eingabe zu bestätigen und um die Minutenanzeige aufzurufen. Stellen
Sie die Minutenanzeige ein und bestätigen Sie die Einstellung mittels der
ALARM-Taste.
Die Alarmfunktion wird automatisch aktiviert. Betätigen Sie die [ALARM]-
Taste einmal, um die Alarmfunktion zu deaktivieren
ALARM- UND SCHLUMMERFUNKTION
(SNOOZE)
Wenn die Alarmfunktion aktiviert ist, wird der Alarm zur eingestellten Zeit
aktiviert. Die Anzeige leuchtet nun ca. 5 Sekunden auf.
Der Crescendo-Alarm wird langsam in drei Stufen lauter. Der Alarm ertönt 1
Minute lang, falls Sie ihn nicht vorher abschalten.
Betätigen Sie eine beliebige Taste, um den Alarm abzuschalten. Wenn Sie die
[SCHLUMMER/LICHT]-Taste betätigen, wird die SCHLUMMER-Funktion
aktiviert. Der Alarm wird nun 8 Minuten lang abgeschaltet und ertönt
anschließend erneut.
