SELECTING THE NUMBER OF STEPS
IN AN INDEX MOVE
Setting the number of steps in an index move can be done
by simply adjusting the four index dials on the front
panel of the DP-01 Data Pack to the desired values.
The number of steps in an index is expressed in 4
digits in decimal format and can be set for between
1-9,999 steps maximum. Each step will correspond
to a shaft rotation o f 1.8°(0.9° f o r M -type) or
0.9°(0.45° for M -type) i n the half step mode.
Therefore, depending on the motor, either 200, 400
or 800 steps steps will result in one complete shaft
revolution. The example to the right shows a move
of 7,291 steps.
SELECTING THE SPEED RANGE
Two speed ranges are available and can be selected
by putting the switch labeled RANGE on the DP-
01 Data Pack in the appropriate position. The
starting speed, running speed and accel/decel rate
are all affected by which speed range is selected.
Refer to tables *1 and *2 on page 25 for the exact
speeds corresponding to each speed range.
SELECTING THE RUNNING SPEED
There are 1 6 different running speeds available in
each speed range. To select a running speed, first
select a speed range with the DP-01 and then select
the desired running speed by adjusting the dial
labeled SPEED on the front panel of the DP-01 to
the appropriate position. The corresponding dial
position and speed values are shown in tables *1
and *2 on page 25.
SELECTING THE ACCELERATION/
DECELERATION RATE
There are 4 different accel/decel rates: Normal,
Fast, Slow and Constant (i.e. no acceleration) avail-
able in each speed range. To select an accel/decel
rate, first select a speed range with the DP-01 and
then select the desired accel/decel rate by adjusting
the dial labeled RATE on the front panel of the DP-
01 to the appropriate position. Refer to tables #1 and
#3 on page 25 for the corresponding dial position
and accel/decel rate.
