At the end of your observing session, be sure to slide the power
switch to OFF to preserve battery life.
Changing the Battery in the Red Dot Scope
The red dot scope uses a standard CR2032 3V lithium ion
battery. Should it die, follow these steps to replace it with a
fresh one:
1. Remove the battery cover by pulling it downward from the
front slot (

).
2. Remove the old battery from underneath the spring tab
and replace it with a new one, with (+) side facing the
spring tab as shown in
Figure 25
.
3. Replace the battery cover and snap it into place.
Using your Telescope
Choosing an Observing Site
When selecting a location for observing, get as far away as
possible from direct artificial light such as street lights, porch
lights, and automobile headlights. The glare from these lights will
greatly impair your dark-adapted night vision. Avoid viewing over
rooftops and chimneys, as they often have warm air currents
rising from them. Similarly, avoid observing from indoors through
an open (or closed) window, because the temperature difference
