Maintenance
General instructions
cgm
.3-huv system: Fully gas-insulated
medium-voltage switchgear
7. Maintenance
For safety reasons, maintenance operations performed
directly on the driving mechanism must be performed
WITHOUT any actuating levers inserted.
The live parts of the main circuit and switching equipment
do not require inspection or maintenance, as they are
completely insulated in SF
6
, and therefore free from any
influence from the external environment.
The operating mechanism for the
cgm
.3-huv system
cubicles' driving units does not require lubrication for
correct operation throughout its estimated lifetime,
according to the service conditions specified in IEC 62271-1.
These mechanisms must be inspected when used under
extreme conditions (dust, salt, pollution). It is advisable to
carry out at least one operation during the inspections.
Components manufactured from galvanised sheet steel
have been painted to ensure their resistance to corrosion.
Any scratches, dents or similar on them must be repaired to
prevent corrosion.
Facilities which operate under severe climate
conditions, in excess of those defined as normal
service conditions (IEC 62271-1), must carry out the
regular preventive maintenance tasks required. Check
with
Ormazabal
for the environmental conditions of
the facility.
7.1. Voltage presence indicating relay test
To test the
ekor
.vpis or
ekor
.ivds voltage presence
indicating relay, connect it to a 230 V
ac
power supply. To
do this, disconnect the
ekor
.vpis or
ekor
.ivds device from
the cubicle, and, using 4 mm cable connectors, apply the
voltage between the test point for the phase to be checked
and the earth test point.
No polarity is defined for 230 V
ac
, so either the phase or
neutral conductor can be connected.
If a flashing signal is observed, the device is working
correctly. In order to properly test the
ekor
.vpis or
ekor
.ivds, this check should be carried in the three phases.
Voltage presence indication is not sufficient in itself to
ensure that the facility has been disconnected from
the electricity supply. It is necessary to confirm that
the feeder is connected to earth before accessing the
cable compartments.
The
ekor
.vpis or
ekor
.ivds voltage indicator can be replaced
if necessary. To do so, loosen to release the two screws on
the top right and bottom left of the indicating relay using a
medium-size Phillips screwdriver. The
ekor
.vpis or
ekor
.ivds
unit can then be disconnected from base without needing
to power down the feeder.
