5.6.1. ENGAGING - RELEASING THE BRAKES

a)
To engage the brake, apply forward pressure to the lever
(see Figure 35-A);
b)
To release the brake, pull the brake lever toward you (see Figure 35-B).
NOTE:
Inadequate tire pressure will render the brake ineffective.
NOTE:
If your wheelchair is equipped with traction brakes, reverse
steps a) and b).
