6.1
TOWING A DISABLED PRODUCT
The following information assumes the telehandler cannot be moved under its
own power.
• Before moving the telehandler, read all of the following information to understand
options available. Then select the appropriate method.
• Machine mounted retrieval devices provide suitable means to attach a tow rope,
chain or tow bar only in the event the telehandler becomes stuck or disabled.
Retrieval devices are not intended for trailer towing applications.
• The steering system permits manual steering if engine or power assist feature
fails; however,
steering will be slow and will require much greater force.
•
DO NOT
attempt to tow a telehandler that is loaded or the boom/attachment is
raised above 1,2 m (4 ft).
Moving Short Distances
• If it is only necessary to move telehandler a short distance, less than 30 m
(100 ft), it is permissible to use a vehicle of sufficient capacity to tow the unit with
no previous preparation.
Moving Longer Distances
• If the telehandler must be moved longer distances, it must be loaded onto a
trailer of sufficient capacity.
Contact your local Authorized Distributor for specific instructions if neither of
these methods are applicable.
