From the platform control console:
a.
Ensure the control console is firmly secured in the
proper location.
b.
Check all guards protecting the switches or locks are in
place.
c.
Operate all functions and check all limiting and cut-out
switches.
d.
Ensure all machine functions are disabled when the
Emergency Stop Button is pushed in.
e.
Operate all functions and ensure proper operation. All
boom sections should extend/retract together at the
same rate of speed. Any difference would indicate
delayed movement and loose wire ropes.
IF DELAYED MOVEMENT IS DETECTED IN WIRE ROPE OPERATION, LOWER PLATFORM
TO STOWED POSITION, SHUT DOWN MACHINE, AND HAVE WIRE ROPES INSPECTED/
SERVICED BY A FACTORY TRAINED SERVICE TECHNICIAN. LOOSE OR MISADJUSTED
WIRE ROPES COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

With the platform in the transport (stowed) position:
a.
Drive the machine on a grade, not beyond the maxi
-
mum operating slope, and stop to ensure the brakes
hold;
b.
Check the tilt indicator is illuminated to ensure proper
operation.
4.
Swing the boom over either rear corner of the machine and
ensure the Drive Orientation indicator illuminates and the
Drive Orientation Override switch must be used for the drive
function to operate.
5.
With the machine positioned on a smooth, firm surface
within the limits of the maximum operating slope, elevate
the boom above 5 degrees of horizontal. Select high speed
drive mode. Carefully attempt to drive and ensure the drive
speed is reduced.
