1. How often should the Domes be changed?
If the Dome is
not replaced from time to time it will get clogged with wax.
Replace whenever needed. For most users this will be once
every one or two months. A package of Domes is enclosed
with the device. Advise your clients how they can obtain
replacement domes.
2. When should i change the noWax in the Receiver unit?
Visually inspect the NoWax filter for wax. Replace if wax
is present or no sound is coming from the device. See No
Wax package for instructions. Oticon recommends that the
Hearing Care Professional replaces the NoWax filter.
3. How often should the WaxStop in custom RitE Molds
be changed?
The WaxStop should be changed whenever
needed. For most users this will be once a month.
If the client complains that there is no sound, replace
the WaxStop first.
4. Why does the Receiver unit need two different wax
filter systems when using a custom Mold?
The WaxStop
on the Receiver unit is part of the locking mechanism for
RITE Molds and does not need to be changed or removed.
The client need only change the WaxStop.
5. How frequently should the Receiver unit be changed?
The Receiver unit is designed to function for a long time
(several years), if it is cleaned properly. The Receiver is
an integral part of the device and should be removed
or
replaced if broken. The user should not remove the
Receiver.
6. can the hearing instrument be damaged if an “M”
Medium Receiver is attached to EPOQ, VigO or Hit
instruments?
The Receiver will fit however you will not be
able to program it in Genie. There will be a greater out-
put and you could damage the client’s hearing. It is very
important the Receiver is checked when they are attached
to the hearing instruments to ensure proper gain and
output requirements. Only ‘S’ marked Receivers may be
used for Epoq, Vigo and HIT RITE instruments and only ‘P’
marked Receiver may be used for Epoq and Vigo RITE Power
instruments.
