8. Testing the chair
8.1 sensitive edges.
The chair has to stop if it runs into an obstacle by the footrest , the side of frame, the bottom of the
frame, the drive unit and the safety cap of the endswitch.
The safety mechanisms are located at both sides of the chair and work independently from each
other, so that if, for example, the side cap on the left side of the chair runs into an obstacle, the chair
can still be moved to the right.
If the bottom of the chair runs into a obstruction the chair can still be moved upwards.
•
Make sure all the safety mechanisms are working properly in both directions.
•
When the lift stops the system gives a number of beeps when stopped. (when control is released)
The number of beeps gives the location of the controlled sensitive edge.
The location of the controlled sensitive edge is at the same side as the controlled direction.
•
When
2
beeps are heard the safety cap of the drive-unit is controlled.
•
When
3
beeps are heard the safety-plate of the footplate is controlled.
•
When
4
beeps are heard the safety-cap of the chairframe is controlled.
(also check bottom of chairframe)
•
When
5
beeps are heard the safety-cap of the endswitch is controlled.
(The 5 beeps are given in the current software only when the chair is positioned on a endpoint,
in the upcoming software on every loctation.)
