The ABR test
Test duration for babies
Single ear testing:
Approximately 1½ minutes on babies with normal hearing under quiet conditions,
but highly dependent on test conditions in general.
Binaural testing:
Approximately 3 minutes on babies with normal hearing under quiet conditions, but
highly dependent on test conditions in general.

When the test is completed, the test data is saved and the result is shown on the
screen.

Test result PASS (Test passed)
EEG
Is an indication of the amplitude of the total registered
potential. The lower this value is, the easier the test will be.
If the electrode signals are significantly high (disturbances,
muscular artifacts) the data measured during this time will
be ignored.
Impedance
These impedance values are updated and shown every 20
seconds.
The actual test is like a race between Progress and ABR:
• If
Progress
wins, the result is a
REFER (Test referred)
.
• If
ABR
wins, the result is a
PASS (Test passed)
.
Progress
Shows the test progress. Max. time depends on environ-
mental noise conditions.
Pause
Press to pause the test.
