7.3.6 Drive-away Lock
The control unit of the B500 power wheelchair features
an electronic drive-away lock for blocking the driving
function.
Activating the drive-away lock:
1. If the control unit is turned on, press and hold the On/
Off button for at least 2 seconds.
2. A short beep confirms the activation of the drive-away
lock (if you switch on the feature ensuring a beep with
each push of the button, then it is the second beep
that confirms the activation of the drive-away lock).
3. The control unit is turned off automatically.
Activation of the drive-away lock is indicated by the
key symbol on the display.

Deactivating the drive-away lock
1. Press the On/Off button to turn on the control.
2. Move the joystick into the front end position until you
hear a beep.
3. Move the joystick into the rear end position until you
hear a beep.
4. Release the joystick.
5. Another beep confirms the successful deactivation of
the drive-away lock.
6. Speed level and battery indicator appear on the LCD
display, and the control unit is ready for driving.
Now the drive-away lock is deactivated and it is possible
to drive.
nOTE !
If the joystick is not moved correctly, the drive-
away lock remains activated. Turn the con-
trols of the power wheelchair off and on again
and make another attempt at deactivating the
drive-away lock.
7.4 releasing and Locking the Brake
If the control unit fails or there is not enough battery
power, it is possible to push the power wheelchair by dis-
engaging the brake by means of the mechanical release
mechanism. The brake release mechanism is located
either to the right or left side of the wheelchair between
the frame and seat.
