5. Close the battery case and reinsert and attach the
seat bottom.
Maintenance-free lead gel batteries can be used as an
alternative.
See section 7.3.4 for battery capacity display on the con-
trol panel.
7.5.1 charging

Explosion hazard!
Explosive gases can develop while the batter-
ies are charging. The following safety instruc-
tions must be followed under all circumstanc-
es:
Ensure sufficient ventilation when charging the
batteries in closed rooms.
Smoking and fire are not permitted.
Sparks must be avoided.
Do not cover the vent slots in the housing.

Battery damage!
Driving over a longer period of time with only
the lower segments of the battery indicator lit
will discharge the battery completely and dam-
age it. There is a risk that the power wheel-
chair may stop due to zero battery capacity
and bring the user into a dangerous situation.
The remaining battery capacity determines the distance
range of the power wheelchair. Many factors have an
influence on the battery capacity. Besides the tempera-
ture, the age of the batteries and the time and extent of
