8.5 Elevating footrests
8.5.1 Mechanically Elevating footrest
The B500 power wheelchair can be equipped with
mechanically elevating footrests (see fig. 32).
To elevate the footrest:
r
Use the release lever on the footrest (to unblock the
gas compression spring).
r
Move the footrest to the desired position.
r
Let go of the release lever (to again block the gas
compression spring).

8.5.2 Electrically Adjustable footrests

The seat function actuators are not intended
for continuous use, but only for short-term lim-
ited operation. General recommendation: At
maximum load capacity, 10 seconds of opera-
tion should be followed by 90 seconds of idle
time. The electric seat functions are consid-
ered independently of the driving function for
this purpose.
To avoid permanent pressure loads or to ensure anti-
shock positioning, the power wheelchair offers the pos-
sibility of mounting electrically adjustable footrests (Fig-
ure 33). In the control unit‘s „additional function“ mode,
both footrests can be controlled separately or simultane-
ously depending on the ordered version. To adjust them,
use the joystick.
The amount of space available for getting into or out of
the wheelchair can be increased by flipping the foot-
plates up. (Figure 11).
