5.5 Caster Swivel Lock

The caster swivel lock is especially suited for the initial phase of therapy with Nurmi Neo mod-
els, since greater manoeuvrability also requires increased coordination ability on the part of the

forks, pull the swivel lock housing to the front until the housing encloses the cap nut (Fig. 31). 
To open the caster swivel lock, slide the swivel lock housing away from the wheel until the cap 
     
loosen the screw until the screw can be shifted in the slotted hole. Now close the swivel lock, set 
the front wheel so that it is positioned for straight-forward motion and slightly tighten the screw 
using a 10 mm open-end wrench. Open the swivel lock, turn the wheel to the outside (Fig. 32)

5.6 Friction Brake

 CAUTION

Risk of injury due to brake failure. 

Regularly check the the friction brake for proper function and cor-

rect if necessary. 

Worn-out or damaged wheels must be replaced.

The friction brake can be used to control deceleration. The pressure of the friction brakes on the 
hub and thus the rolling speed of the tyres can be varied by loosening or tightening the interior 
set screws (Fig. 33).
