Preface
The MINNY children‘s wheelchair is a quality product offering your child versatile use in everyday life.
Before using the wheelchair, please read sections:
“Delivery/ Preparing the Wheelchair for Use”
and
“Safety
Tips”
.
The “Accessories” section features additional components for the children‘s wheelchair which may broaden the ap-
plication possibilities and increase user comfort.
The “Adjustibility/Assembly Instructions” section (
Page 4
) gives you an overview of the different possibilities of adjust-
ing the wheelchair to the individual needs of the child.
The design, as described in these Instructions for Use, is subject to technical alterations without notice.
Intended Use
The MINNY children‘s wheelchair is designed solely for people who are unable to walk or who have a walking impedi-
ment. Each wheelchair can be moved either by the patient or another person.
Field of Application
The versatility of this wheelchair is due to its modular design with versatile equipment options. Typical use would be
for patients with walking impediments/inability due to:
• Paralysis
• Defective/deformed limbs
• Joint contractures/defects
• Diseases like cardiac/circulatory insufficiency, disorders of balance or cachexia
• Spina bifida
• Brittle bones
The MINNY was especially designed for children who normally can move independently in a wheelchair.
Fitting considerations:
• body height and weight (maximal load is 25 kg, 55.12 lbs.)
• physical and psychological limitations
• home conditions
• environment
Declaration of Conformity
Otto Bock as manufacturer with sole responsibility declares that the MINNY children‘s wheelchair conforms to the
requirements of the 93/42 EEC Guidelines.
Delivery / Preparing the Wheelchair for Use
In general, your wheelchair will be delivered completely assembled. Please check the settings before use.
Test if the seat height, calf length, footrest angle and center of gravity are correctly adjusted and then check if all
of the screws have been tightened.
Safety Tips
To avoid potentially dangerous situations such as tipping, the child should become familiar with the new wheelchair
on level ground first.
Please
note that the children‘s wheelchair is exclusively designed for indoors and therefore only partially suitable
for outdoor use.
Do not use the footplates when getting into or out of the wheelchair.
Test how the wheelchair reacts when the center of gravity is shifted; for example on slopes or inclines or when
clearing obstacles, like steps and curbs. This should be done only with assistance from another person. Use of an
anti-tipper is absolutely required for this.
The anti-tipper is a component that has been designed to prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards.
The anti-tipper should never be used to support the back of the wheelchair with the rear wheels removed.
