SETTING UP YOUR UMBR E L L A – CAUT I ON !
Although you can set up your Umbrella without the extension pole, it may be easier with the
pole fitted.
Insert the extension pole into the centre pole, with the pointed end facing outward. Adjust
the length of the centre pole by sliding the extension, then locking it into place with the twist
action clamp. Turn Clockwise to tighten and anticlockwise to loosen.
Warning! Ensure there is at least 10cm of the extension pole inserted into the centre. Do
not overextend the centre pole. Clamping the last few centimetres of the extension pole will
break the plastic moulding of the clamp. Note: Damage caused in this way will NOT be
covered by our returns policy!
Opening the umbrella: Ensure the pole is fitted and screwed tightly. Slide the runner up the
pole and over the spring-loaded catch, until it clicks and locks into place. Warning! Do not
force the slider. Sometimes when packed, the canopy can become compressed. If this
happens, shake the umbrella to loosen the fabric before continuing to use the slider.
You can now position your umbrella where you want it.
Adjusting the canopy angle: Twist the upper part of the centre pole anticlockwise to loosen
slightly. Adjust the canopy angle to your desired position, then lock it by twisting the centre
pole clockwise.

Push the spiked end of the extension pole into the ground or insert into a suitable
ground anchor or base (not supplied). Note: The ends of some of the metal ribs have a
twisted loop. The nylon guy ropes can be attached to these, keeping the product secure in
windy conditions. The nylon guy ropes can be attached through the four looped ribs of the
umbrella and/or through the plastic loop on the top of the umbrella. It will be secured to the
ground with the provided steel pegs. Adjust the length and tension of the guy ropes as
required. Be cautious of the ropes – they are a potential trip hazard. You can attach bright
labels or pegs to make the ropes more visible.
WI ND SHE L T E R
This umbrella includes an optional attachable wind shelter sheet. To attach, zip to the outer
edge of the umbrella with the metallic silver side facing inwards. The lower edge of the wind
shelter sheet has elasticated loops with D rings, which can be pegged to the ground using
the steel pegs. Before doing this, you may need to a d j u s t the height of the canopy using t
h e clamp. When hammering in the steel pegs, d o n o t overstretch the elasticated loops.
Note: Damage caused in this way will NOT be covered by our returns policy!
CAR I NG FOR YOUR P RODUCT
Weather can take its toll on fabrics, especially strong sunlight. It is recommended to use
tent spray/coating such as Nikwax – this helps to preserve the fabric and maintain its
water-resistant qualities. Ensure the product is completely dry before packing away.
