SnapServer XSR120 Add-on/Spare PCIe Card Instructions

  

Install or Replace the PCIe Card

1.

At the rear, remove and retain the 

screw

 securing the 

rear access cover bracket.

2.

Do 

one

 of the following:

If 

installing

 a new card in an empty slot, remove the 

rear panel 

access cover at that slot 

and set it aside. 

Continue with 

Install the PCIe Card

.

If 

replacing

 an existing card, remove the card from 

the 

motherboard slot

 and set it aside on an ESD 

surface. Continue with 

Swap the Mounting Bracket

.

Swap the Mounting Bracket

NOTE: If the spare came with a mounting bracket attached, 
continue with 

Install the PCIe Card

.

1.

Remove and retain the 

two screws

 securing the 

mounting bracket

 to the old card.

2.

Remove the mounting 

bracket

 from the old card and 

position it on the new card.

3.

Using the 

two retained screws

, secure the bracket to 

the new card.

Install the PCIe Card

1.

Seat the card firmly in the 

motherboard slot

 with the 

card bracket positioned in the open rear bracket slot.

2.

Using the 

retained screws

, secure the locking bracket.

Reinstall the Rear Top Panel

1.

Position the rear top panel on the chassis with no more 
than 

one-half inch

 (1.25cm) extending out over the rear 

of the unit.

2.

Slide the panel 

forward

 until it is fully seated.

3.

Using the 

four retained screws

, secure the panel.

Reinstall the Chassis in the Rack

Remount the Chassis

1.

Pull the 

middle

 rack rails out of the rack.

2.

Using the mechanical lifter, position the 

chassis

 in front 

of the rack rails.

3.

Slide the chassis side rails into the rack rails, and push 
the 

chassis

 all the way to the rear.

4.

Secure the chassis using the 

two captive screws

 on the 

front flanges.
