OPERATION (cont.)
Note:
Always use the chuck key on all three holes on the chuck body to ensure each
jaw is equally tightened.
To remove the drill bit or accessory follow the below steps:
Warning!
Drill bits can be hot after use, always wear gloves to prevent burns
or lacerations.
•
First loosen the chuck jaws with the chuck key (rotate chuck key anti-clockwise).
•
Remove the drill bit or accessory by hand.
Fitting and using the dust cover
The dust cover (20) catches dust and debris generated
while using the drill over head. It is advised to use the
dust cover (20) to minimise dust and debris entering the
tools air vents (ensuring the motors longevity).
To fit the dust cover (20), first slide the shank of the
accessory to be used through the hole in the dust
cover (20). Ensure the flat face of the dust cover (20)
faces the tool.
Now insert the shank of the SDS+ accessory into the tool
as previously described
(under Fitting a SDS+ accessory)
.
On/off switch
To turn on the tool on, squeeze the on/off switch (8) on
the rear operating handle. To turn off the tool, release the on/off switch (8).
Note:
Always wait until the accessory has stopped moving before putting down the tool.
Changing drilling modes
Prior to changing modes, the on/off switch (8) should have been released and the
accessory should have come to a complete stop.
Hammer drilling mode
Rotate the mode selector on the side of the drill to the hammer and drill icon, and
rotate the rear mode selector to the drill and hammer icon. This setting is
recommended for use when drilling holes in concrete and other masonry products.
The hammer action will be in operation while the drill bit simultaneously rotates.
