Fuel and chain oil
Lubricate the motor with a special 2-stroke oil mixed with petrol. Use a quality oil
labelled "for use in air-cooled 2-stroke motors".
Mixing ratio:
2 % = 5 l petrol 10 ml oil
Poor quality petrol or oil can destroy the motor or impair its operation.
WARNING
Petrol is highly flammable. Do not smoke or produce flames or
sparks near the fuel. Make sure you stop the motor and let it cool down before
filling with fuel.
HOW TO MIX FUEL:
Make sure the fuel is stirred carefully.
Measure the amount of petrol and oil to be mixed.
Pour some of the petrol into a clean, approved fuel container.
Add all the oil and stir well.
Add the rest of the petrol and stir again for at least one minute.
Label the storage container clearly so there is no doubt about the contents.
TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR MOTOR, AVOID:
•
FUEL WITHOUT OIL (PURE PETROL) – It will very quickly cause serious damage
to the internal parts of the motor.
•
OIL INTENDED FOR 4-STROKE MOTORS – It can cause contamination of the
spark plugs, blocking of the exhaust port or sticking of the piston rings.
•
Mixed fuel that has been standing for over a month, without being
shaken/mixed again.
An oil/petrol mixture that has been unused for at least a month or more can clog the
carburettor and result in the motor not running properly.
If you are going to store the chain saw for a long period, drain the petrol from the fuel
system.
