the section on the servicing of the driver.
4.
Replace all O-rings and seals.
Important! The amount and type of lubricant that is used in the post driver is
important for its performance and lifetime. Too little lubricant will result in faults and
too much lubricant will load the piston and affect driver performance. Use only
approved EP 0 lubricant.
Important! Always refit the driver’s bolts using thread lock.
Remember to clean both
bolts and holes with a form of degreaser to remove remnants of lubricant otherwise
the adhesive will not be effective.
If you have problems with the post driver’s performance, please refer to the
troubleshooting section in this manual.
Servicing of the driver and anvil of the post driver (re-assembly)
Bottom guide tube
•
Wear safety goggles.
•
Remove the six bolts in the bottom of the bottom guide tube. Be aware that the
handle tubes have anti-vibration springs, which are fitted with tension. The shock
absorber’s packing washer will in some cases become removed with the bottom guide
tube, in other cases it will remain in position in the top guide tube.
•
Remove the shock absorber and examine the rubber O-ring and steel components for
wear and deposits. Important! Note the direction of the shock absorber’s direction, as
it must have the same direction when it is re-fitted.
•
Remove the bottom driver section and replace the Viton O-ring. The bottom driver
section is made of hardened high-quality steel and should not show any signs of wear.
Clean the bottom driver section thoroughly.
