Troubleshooting
Engine will not start
Possible cause
Solution
Check the position of the
handles
The fuel cock is in the OFF
position.
Set the engine switch to
ON.
The choke is set to OPEN. Set the choke handle to
CLOSE (not if the engine is
warm).
Engine switch is set to
OFF.
Set the engine switch to
ON.
Check fuel
Engine lacks fuel.
Top up with fuel.
Poor quality fuel.
Empty the tank and fill
with new fuel.
Remove and check spark
plugs
The spark plug is
defective, dirty or the
electrode gap is incorrect.
Replace or clean and
adjust the distance.
The spark plug is wet with
petrol – engine soaked.
Wipe dry the spark plug
and put it back in again.
Start the engine with the
throttle in the FAST
position.
Have the engine serviced
at an authorised
workshop or refer to the
manual.
Fuel filter clogged, faulty
carburettor, faulty
ignition, valve stuck, etc.
Replace or repair defective
components as necessary.
Engine lacks power
Possible cause
Solution
Check the air filter
Filter elements clogged.
Clean or replace.
Check fuel
Engine lacks fuel.
Top up with fuel.
Poor quality fuel.
Empty the tank and fill
with new fuel.
Have the engine serviced
at an authorised
workshop or refer to the
manual.

machine does not work
Possible cause
Solution

Gear selector is not in
correct position.
Check that the rod is not
stuck between two gears.

Clutch cable not tight

Adjust the cable.
