Safety instructions
Read these instructions thoroughly before using the machine. Ensure that you
become familiar with the machine and its functions and limitations before you use the
machine. Use common sense and sensible judgement and ensure that all applicable
regulations and guidelines relating to occupational health and safety and the safety of
others are complied with.
Before starting the machine, check that all of the levers are in the respective neutral
position and the handbrake is active.
Always sit in the seat when operating the levers.
In cases where people are injured or killed, it is usually because they fell from the
machine and were run over. Never allow any other people to ride on the tractor. Only
one person, the operator, may operate the machine when it is running.
Before leaving the tractor, switch off the engine, set all of the levers to neutral,
activate the handbrake and remove the key from the ignition lock.
When using external hydraulic valves, the backhoe arm’s cylinders will continue to
move if the operating levers are not manually set to neutral or until the pressure has
equalised. Pay attention to the movement of the bucket and retain control using the
operating levers.
Stop the backhoe arm slowly when raising or lowering the bucket with a load. Avoid
inclines that are too steep for safe operation.
Avoid digging too close to ditches, embankments and holes.
Never use hands when inspecting pressurised hoses for leaks. Use a piece of paper or
wood. Pressurised fluid can penetrate the skin and cause an infection. If this occurs,
seek medical attention immediately.
To avoid personal injury, relieve all of the pressure before disconnecting hydraulic
hoses.
Before connecting hydraulic pressure, check that all of the hydraulic connections are
sealed and that the components are in good working order.
Ensure that there is plenty of space around and above the machine. Any contact with
overhead electrical cables may cause serious personal injury or death.
