Problem
Solution
WARNING
Do not try to clean the flail mower’s discharge area while the flail mower is
running. Risk of injury.
Belt slips
Remove the flail mower’s cover and clean
Remove the belt cover and clean the pulleys
Replace the V-belt
Patches of unmowed grass
Mow at full throttle (540 rpm). Check the PTO speed and
the tractor engine
Downshift to a lower gear
Tighten the belts
Replace missing flails
Excessive vibration
Replace flails
Replace V-belt
Replace pulley or adjust
Remove pulley guards and clean the area around belts
and pulleys
Noisy gearbox
Check the oil level
The mower scalps the grass
Raise the mowing height and adjust the roller
Change the mowing pattern
Reduce speed
Uneven mowing
Downshift to a lower gear
Level the flail mower
Replace missing flails
The tractor is working ‘hard’

Disposal
When the flail mower is to be disposed of, disassemble it and dispose of the parts in
accordance with applicable regulations relating to the disposal of the material in
question.
