EXERCISE CAUTION!
When driving on a public road, no matter whether it is day or night, use lights
and other equipment to alert other road users. Obey all traffic regulations.
Use
The following checks and inspections must be executed every time the machine is
taken into use:
1.
Check the oil level of the gearbox.
2.
Check that all gears in the gearbox are in good condition and properly tightened.
3.
Make sure that flails, bolts and nuts are tightened.
4.
Make sure that all guards are in place and securely attached.
5.
Lubricate the PTO shaft and all other grease nipples.
6.
Clear the working area of stones, branches and other objects.
7.
Lower the flail mower to the ground. Set the tractor’s throttle to ¼. Engage the PTO, so
that the flails begin to rotate.
8.
Keep the PTO speed to 540 rpm.
9.
Cut slowly and increase speed gradually until the desired speed is reached – max. 540
rpm
10.
The flail mower cuts better at a higher rpm than it does at a reduced rpm.
11.
After the first 15 metres, stop working and check that the flail mower is correctly
adjusted.
12.
Never try to turn or drive in reverse while the flail mower is lowered to the ground.
13.
Do not engage the PTO while the flail mower is in the raised position.
Mowing instructions
1.
Clear the area to be mowed of objects and refuse that could be hit by the flail mower’s
blades.
2.
It is best to mow grass when it is dry. If the grass is wet when it is mowed, it will bunch
up behind the flail mower.
3.
Grass should be mowed often because short clippings disintegrate faster.
4.
If the grass is very tall, it is advisable to raise the mowing height, mow the grass and
then lower the mower to the preferred height and mow the grass once more.
