Replacing the drive belt
WARNING
Disconnect the spark plug lead
before removing the drive belt.
To replace the drive belt, remove the
guard:
1.
Remove the two bolts holding the rear of
the guard to the machine (Figure 16).
2.
Remove the four bolts holding the front
of the guard and the trimmer head to the
machine (Figure 16).
3.
Remove the V-belt pulley from the
bracket (Figure 17).
4.
Lift the front end of the machine and
remove the drive belt. Do not bend the
belt grooves.
Important – replace only with an original
drive belt or equivalent:
The length of the belt is 1160±2.5 mm,
the angle is 37° and the section is 3L.
5.
Put the new belt on in reverse order.
6.
Torque specifications:
13-20 Nm for the bolts in the guard.
36.6-44.7 Nm for the belt guard
mounting bolt.
24.2-34 Nm for the bolts in the
trimmer head.
7.
Check the direction of the drive belt
and make sure the belt is correctly
seated in the belt grooves and the belt
is running straight and is not twisted.
