Remove the output planet carrier assembly. You can
make hooks like the ones shown to make removal easi-
er. Refer to “OUTPUT PLANET CARRIER SERVICE”
for more information.
Remove the carrier extension from the drum. If the
chain case and freespool cylinder have previously been
removed, lift the freespool gear and pull tube assembly
out of the drum.
Lift the drum off the chain case end plate.

The drum bearing and seal in the chain case end brack-
et can now be removed. Thoroughly clean and inspect
the bearing and replace if required.
