A.4 Returning your PaceBook 

After you have enjoyed your PaceBook for many years, and feel it’s time for it to retire, please 
return it and any accessories to PaceBlade. PaceBlade or your dealer will accept these and will 

responsibly recycle components. 

A.5 HDD  Bay 

Warning: 

Only do this if you know what you are doing. Damage caused by 
replacing the HDD will void the warranty! 

Removing the Main HDD 

 

The PaceBook must be turned off (not in sleep state) 

 

Slide the Battery release knob to the unlock position and 

hold it in place 

 

Remove the battery cover and the battery 

 

Unscrew the screw that keeps the HDD in place 

 

Lift the HDD out of the compartment 

 

Remove the HDD bracket and connector, replace the HDD 

with a new HDD 

Installing the Main HDD 

 

Replace hard disk bracket and connector 

 

Connect the HDD to the HDD connector in the PaceBook 

 

Replace the screw that secures the HDD in place 

 

Replace the battery and battery cover 

 

If the HDD is empty, follow Chapter 7 to re-install Windows XP 

Warning:

 

When the HDD is not inside the PaceBook, be very careful of it, 

avoiding  fluids, shocks, extreme temperatures, etc. The HDD is very sensitive to static 
electricity and shocks, so handle it carefully or seek your computer dealer for help.
