Battery test
Immediately after the absorption stage, an automatic battery test is performed. The test
monitors the voltage for 90 seconds to determine whether the charge was successful.
•
12V charger:
If the voltage is below 13.2V
(not passed)
, the charger starts the repair
mode (Recondition).
•

24V charger:
If the voltage is below 26.4V
(not passed)
, the charger starts the repair
mode (Recondition).

Repair / Reconditioning
The repair function starts automatically if the battery fails the battery test (level 5). A failed
battery test shows that the battery was not fully charged in absorption mode. The repair
mode starts with the supply of a low constant voltage over a period of four hours. The charger
then switches to maintenance charge mode. This repair function can restore batteries from a
deeply discharged state and extend their performance and service life.
This mode is used to restore deeply discharged batteries where layered acid is suspected (high
acidity on the ground and lighter on top). If you have any questions, please contact the battery
manufacturer.
Use this mode with care. The high voltage can lead to waterloss. 16V / 32V are usually no
problem for the electronics of 12V or 24V systems.
If in doubt, please check with your dealer. The lifespan of light bulbs is reduced at higher
voltage. Therefore, disconnect the light from the battery during this phase. For the maximum
effect and the lowest risk, charge the battery if possible after disconnecting it from the (on-
board) electronics.
