7.3 Ignition
•
Clean the fire box from the presence of ash;
•
open the primary air regulation to the maximum (fig.7.3);
•
open the fire door;
• carefully place the pieces of wood in the combustion chamber;
•
place a natural fire-igniter on the pile of wood;
• add thin crossed sticks on top;
• turn the lighter on from above
•
close the fire door
•
keep the air intake open to ensure a high and bright flame
• reduce the air intake opening only when a good ember base has formed.

Refilling the fuel
During operation, to refill with fuel it is necessary to follow this procedure:
•
Slowly open the fire door in order to avoid creating an air depression in the fire box, which would cause an almost certain
release of smoke into the room (depending on the flue draw).
•
Refill the fire box with fuel and then close the fire door. For optimal arrangement of the fuel inside the fire box, refer to
the following figure.
Avoid overheating the stove by introducing excessive amounts of fuel.
Introduce fuel when the embers have formed and the flame has lowered.
The stove is equipped with a bypass valve, which, when opened, facilitates the escape of smoke into the flue minimising
puffs of smoke into the environment.
7.5 Combustion control
7.5.1 Primary combustion
It generates the main flame that develops in contact with the stock; it is promoted by introducing air into the grate through
the rear combustion air pipe.
The adjustment of the primary air is carried out by acting on the lever present in the front part of the machine (Fig. 7.3);
moving it to the right (-) it decreases the contribution of primary air, it increases instead by moving it to the left (+).
With the fire burning, the lever can be positioned approximately half open according to the draw of the flue pipe and the
amount of air to be supplied.
For the first ignition of the day, or when using damp wood, it is advisable to fully open the primary air element to facilitate ignition.
During operation, the temperature of the logs may be high, use the glove, supplied as standard, to move them in order to
avoid burns.
