Operating company
The operating company must ensure that:

The operator is familiar with and has understood these operating instructions, the operating
instructions of the crane to be controlled and the operating instructions of all ancillary equipment
used.
x
The operator has received and has understood an operator training on the crane to be controlled
and on all ancillary equipment used.
x
The operator can at all time access these and all the other operating instructions used.
x
The system cannot be started without authorisation.
Terms
Operating company:
Owner, leaser, renter of the crane, uses the crane, operates the crane either
himself or entrusts a third party with the operation.
Operator:
Operates (works with) the crane.
Authorised:
Authorised by PALFINGER; service workshops through tests, a corresponding
driver's license, operator training (on the crane), etc.
Properly
A person who observes and complies with all duties of care that his work
involves acts properly.
(Grossly) negligent
A person who disregards the duties that his work involves acts (grossly)
negligently.
Who fails to observe what should be obvious to anybody under the respective
circumstances.
Lifting moment:
The moment that is exerted by a load hanging on a hook, ancillary equipment,
lifting devices, etc.
Inherent moment:
The moment that is exerted by the dead weight of the boom system.
Total moment:
Is made up of lifting moment and inherent moment.
Overload situation:
Reaching of the maximum permissible load for the current working position.
Working position:
Setup state, crane position.
Working range
The area that is required to carry out the work.
Movement range:
The area within which the crane can be moved.
