of construction.
Operation outside the above specifications
and/or with fluids incompatible with
polypropylene/polyethylene may cause a
failure resulting in personal injury and/or

to Pall Datasheet IJ1777.
The following procedures are required to
install Pall disposable filter capsule
assemblies and should be read thoroughly as
they contain valuable information gained by
extensive experience. It is very important that
all instructions are carefully followed. If some
of the procedures do not suit your needs,
please consult Pall or your local Pall
Distributor before finalising your system.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
Important: Filter capsules are NOT supplied
with companion fittings
(a) Carefully cut open packaging. DO NOT
open by pushing the filter capsule through
the protective bag.
(b) Install the filter capsule assembly in line
using compatible connections. Ensure the
flow direction conforms with the inlet
and outlet markings on the filter
capsule assembly.
(c) Where a positive pressure exists
downstream of the filter capsule assembly,
a check valve may be needed to prevent
back pressure damage due to reverse flow.
(d) Where a rapidly closing downstream valve
is present, the possibility of pressure
pulsing and subsequent assembly damage
exists. The assembly should be protected
by a surge tank positioned between the
valve and the filter capsule assembly.
3.
REPLACEMENT
Isolate the system flow upstream of the filter
capsule and depressurise through system
drain valve.
(a) Disconnect filter capsule from the system,
note a small amount of ink will be released
when the capsule is disconnected
(up to 2 ml).
(b) Discard the filter capsule in accordance
with local Health and Safety Procedures
associated with the process fluid.
(c) Install and replace filter capsule as detailed
in Section 2.

WARNING:
BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE
FILTER CAPSULE FROM THE SYSTEM,
ENSURE THAT IT IS FULLY ISOLATED AND
DEPRESSURISED. FAILURE TO DO SO
COULD RESULT IN A RAPID DISCHARGE OF
FLUID WHICH COULD CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY.
WARNING:
THIS PRODUCT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR
STEAM STERILIZATION.
INSTALL AND CONNECT COMPANION
FITTINGS USING APPROPRIATE
