Search

The Picture Search function is a convenient way to
locate a desired portion of the tape quickly.

Forward Search:

To view high-speed pictures in the forward direction

1. In the Playback mode, press the FF button.

2.

Press the FF button again to search faster.

3.

To resume normal playback, press the PLAY button.

Reverse Search:

To view high-speed pictures in the reverse direction

1. In the Playback mode, press the REW button

2.

Press the REW  button again to search faster.

3.

To resume normal playback, press the PLAY button

The audio output is muted during picture search
operation.

Noise bars may appear on the picture during picture
search. This does not indicate a malfunction of the
VCR.

Press the             buttons in the course of Forward
Search or Reverse Search to move noise bars up and
down for the best screen.

Still Frame

To freeze the picture 

1. In the Playback mode, press the PAUSE button to

freeze the picture.

2. To resume normal playback, press the PLAY button.

If the VCR is left in Still mode for longer than five
minutes, it will automatically release Still mode to
prevent damages to the tape.
The audio output is muted in Still mode.
A noise bar will appear during the still frame. Please
note that this is normal.

Frame Advance

Each time you press the PAUSE button in still mode the
still picture advances one frame.

Slow Playback

Press the NUMBER 8 button or the NUMBER 9
button to perform slow playback.

Each time these buttons are pressed, the playback
speed changes.

Press the             buttons during Slow Playback to
move noise bars up and down.
Press the PAUSE button when the screen gets the
best condition to make a still frame.
When the             buttons are continuously held in
such a situation, the shake of the picture screen will
be stopped.

To return to normal play, press the PLAY button.

A noise bar will appear during slow playback.
Please note that this is normal.
