Setup Menus

Basic Operation
O
Press the MENU button to establish the menu
setting mode.
O
Press the [

] or [

] button to change the menu
item.

Press the [

] button to change an item
setting.
O
Pressing the ENTER button causes the changes
made up until the ENTER button is pressed to take
effect without exiting the menu setting mode.
O
Pressing the ESCAPE button cancels the changes
made up until the ESCAPE button is pressed
without exiting the menu setting mode.
However, if the ENTER button is pressed before
the ESCAPE button is pressed, the changes made
up until the ENTER button is pressed take effect.
O
When the SET button is pressed, the changes are
take effect, and the menu setting mode is exited.
O
When the MENU button is pressed without pressing
the SET button, the changes made so far are
canceled, and the menu setting mode is exited.
However, if the ENTER button is pressed before
the MENU button is pressed, the changes made up
until the ENTER button is pressed take effect.

Switching between menus
The following three menus are provided with the unit:
the <SYSTEM> menu, the <ENC> menu and the
<DEC> menu.
When the unit is being used as an encoder, the
<SYSTEM> menu and <ENC> menu are displayed.
When it is being used as a decoder, the <SYSTEM>
menu and <DEC> menu are displayed.
To switch between <SYSTEM>/<ENC> and
<SYSTEM>/<DEC>, press the [
#
] or [
2
] button in the
menu setting mode while pressing the SHIFT button.

Switching between the encoder
and decoder
Whether the unit is to be used as an encoder or
decoder is determined by the <SYSTEM> menu
No.01 (INPUT SEL) setting.
O
When HD SDI is selected as the INPUT SEL
setting, the unit functions as an encoder to convert
HD SDI inputs into SDTI outputs.
O
When SDTI is selected as the INPUT SEL setting,
the unit functions as a decoder to convert SDTI
inputs into HD SDI outputs.

Menu initialization
Initializing the <SYSTEM> menu settings
1. Establish the menu setting mode, and display the
<SYSTEM> menu.
2. Press the DIAG button.
3. The “SYSTEM INIT OK?” message now appears.
4. To initialize, press the [ENTER] button.
To cancel, press the [ESCAPE] button.
Initializing the <ENC> menu settings
1. Establish the menu setting mode, and display the
<ENC> menu.
2. Press the DIAG button.
3. The “ENCODER INIT OK?” message now appears.
4. To initialize, press the [ENTER] button.
To cancel, press the [ESCAPE] button.
Initializing the <DEC> menu settings
1. Establish the menu setting mode, and display the
<DEC> menu.
2. Press the DIAG button.
3. The “DECODER INIT OK?” message now appears.
4. To initialize, press the [ENTER] button.
To cancel, press the [ESCAPE] button.
The settings of this unit are performed while
selections are made using a system of menus.
When a video monitor has been connected to the HD
SDI OUT3 and SD SDI OUT3 connectors, the menu
contents are output with the superimposed displays.
