To save space or to use the unit mainly for faxes, you may remove the handset cradle.
Removing the handset cradle

Set the handset switch to “NO HANDSET”
(see page 65).

Pull the hooks to the right in the order as shown,
while lifting up the handset cradle.
Caution:
●
If the handset and handset cradle have been removed
when you connect the power cord, an alarm will
sound and the following message will be displayed.
Set the handset switch to “NO HANDSET” (see page
65).
CHECK CRADLE
Cleaning the inside of the unit
If misfeeding occurs frequently or dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or transmitted document,
clean the document feeder rollers, sub roller, rubber flap, white plate and glass.

Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.

Open the front cover by pressing the front cover
open button.

Clean the document feeder rollers and sub roller
with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing
alcohol, and let dry thoroughly.

Clean the rubber flap with a cotton swab
moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let
dry thoroughly.

Close the front cover by gently pressing down on
both corners of the cover.

Clean the white plate and glass with a soft dry
cloth.
7
Connect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.
Caution:
●
Do not use paper products (such as paper towels or
tissues) to clean the inside of the unit.
Routine care

Disconnect and connect the power cord.
