Service-in can only be operated from devices in a Service-out state.

Service-in on a sub device or wireless device is only possible from an operational device
which can be registered as a sub device or wireless device.

Service-in on a sub device or wireless device is not possible when the main device is not
serviced in.
•
Service-in operation for users who are serviced in on other devices.
When serviced in, if the device of the specified device type (main/sub/wireless) of the
specified user is already registered, it is possible to newly Service-in on a device that is
performing the Service-in operation by servicing out the registered devices. Any sub-
devices or wireless devices registered at that time will continue to be serviced in.

If a PT with an LCD is used, service-in is possible by pressing the
START
button (soft
button) while "
Service-out
" is displayed on the LCD.
Service-out
When the user performs the Service-out feature on a serviced in terminal, the link between the terminal and
the user will be released, causing the terminal to disconnect from the user. A serviced out terminal cannot
perform any other services than the Service-in operation or emergency calls.

SIP terminals are unable to perform the Service-out operation.
•
Service-out is not possible when on a call, when on hold, or when receiving a call.
•
When servicing out a device linked as the main device, the sub devices and wireless
devices linked to that user will automatically be serviced out as well. However, unlike with
the normal Service-out state, the sub devices and wireless devices will automatically
reconnect and become operational again when the main device is serviced in again if the
other users linked to the user are saved before servicing out on the main device.
•
You can change the setting that determines whether password authenitication is required
when servicing out. (Default: password authentication enabled)
•
If password authentication is selected, the user linked to the device will not be able to
service out if there is no User PIN is configured.
•
It is possible to Service-in on an extension connected to the DSS console, however, the
user will not be able to Service-out.
•
To display the Service-out status of Smart Desk,
