20 Function settings
Functional characters such as current date and time or lot are based on the system clock of the laser
marking system (“System settings” > “System clock configuration”). It may happen that the system
clock deviates from the accurate time due to errors of internal parts or low battery level.
Therefore, check the system clock in the laser marking system regularly to ensure that the date and
time are correct.

Select the “Function settings” tab.

Select “Current file” or “For all files”.
• In the “Current file” tab, you can specify lot configurations that can be used in the
current file.
• In the “For all files” tab, you can specify lot configurations that can be used in all
files.

Select “Lot” and “Add”.
4.
In the dialog, specify a number for “Lot configuration No.”.
Setting range:
• “Current file”: “0” to “15”
• “For all files”: “16” to “31”

Select “OK”.

“Lot type”:
Set whether the lot number is controlled by the current date or time, an expiry time
setting, or a counter.
If “Counter” is set for “Lot type”, you can specify a maximum of 60 lot characters.
Setting range: “Current date/time”, “Expiry time 1” to “Expiry time 32”, “Counter 0” to
“Counter 31”

“Lot unit”:
Select the unit for the switching of lot numbers.
If “Week” or “Year (Week-based)” is set, you must first specify the settings for “Update
day” and “First week of the year” in the “System settings” screen.
The following list shows the maximum number of periods that can be specified for
each time unit.
• “Year”, “Year (Week-based)”: max. 60
• “Month”: max. 12
• “Day”: max. 31
• “Year/month”: max. 60
• “Month/day”: max. 20
• “Day of week”: max. 7
• “Hour”: max. 24
• “Minute”: max. 60
• “Hour/minute”: max. 60
• “Week”: max. 54
