27.5 Lasing process
Invalid laser settings, an incorrect workpiece position, or obstacles in the laser beam path
may be responsible for lasing problems.
MARKING LED is ON, but no marking is performed
Cause:
There is an obstacle in the laser beam path.
Remedy:
• Remove the obstacle between the laser emission port at the laser
head and the workpiece.
• LP-RF, LP-RV: Remove the protection cap of the laser emission port.
Cause:
The distance to the workpiece is not appropriate.
Remedy:
Adjust the distance between the bottom surface of the laser marking
system and the surface of the workpiece.
Cause:
LP-GS (except LP-GS051-L): The set z-position does not match the
height of the actual workpiece.
Remedy:
Set the z-position according to the workpiece height.
Cause:
The workpiece is not in place.
Remedy:
• Check the marking position using the guide laser.
• LP-RC, LP-RF, LP-RV: Connect a sensor to TARGET DETECTION
IN (X7) of the TERMINAL connector to check the presence of the
workpiece during laser radiation.
Cause:
The laser power is not sufficient.
Remedy:
• Increase the laser power.(including correction factor).
• Decrease the scan speed.(including correction factor).
