19.5 Functional characters for laser settings
Use these functional characters to mark the set values for laser settings such as laser
power or scan speed. This function facilitates checking the marking quality for several laser
settings.
The marked values for laser settings are right-aligned and displayed with five digits including
the decimal point.
To mark the values for laser power and scan speed at once, you must set each functional
character in your object.
Settings
Specify the settings in the “Laser, speed” tab of the “Functional characters” dialog.
For “Laser, speed”, select the value that you want to mark.
• “Laser power”: Marks the laser power value that is set in the “Laser settings” tab.
If the laser power of the object is corrected, the calculated result value is marked.
• “Scan speed”: Marks the scan speed value that is set in the “Laser settings” tab.
If the scan speed of the object is corrected, the calculated result value is marked.
• “Pulse cycle” (LP-RF, LP-RV): Marks the pulse cycle value that is set in the “Laser
settings” tab.
If the pulse cycle of the object is corrected, the calculated result value is marked.
Character strings representing the functional characters for laser settings
These functional characters cannot be used in the character strings of bar code and 2D code
objects.
• Laser power: %POWER
• Scan speed: %SPEED
• Laser pulse cycle (LP-RF, LP-RV): %PULSE
