1: Unreadable language was selected by
mistake.
• Press the [MENU] button and select
[
] icon on the [
SETUP] menu to
set the desired language.
2: The setting for the auto review
function is disabled.
• Is the camera in burst mode (P48), auto
bracket (P46) or motion image mode
[
] (P61), or is [AUDIO REC.] set to
[ON] (DMC-FZ5 only) (P75)?
– In these cases, you cannot set the
auto review function in the [SETUP]
menu.
3: A certain part of the picture blinks.
• This appears due to the highlight
display function which shows white
saturated areas. (P28)
4: When the shutter button is pressed
halfway, a red lamp sometimes turns
on.
• In dark places, the AF assist lamp (P78)
lights red to make it easier to focus on a
subject.
5: The camera will make sounds caused
by internal mechanical movement
when it is shaken.
• The sound arises when the lens moves.
This is not a malfunction.
6: When the zoom lever is rotated, the
camera makes a noise.
• When the zoom function is activated,
you may hear some sound from the
camera or the camera may shake.
However, it is not a malfunction.
7: The lens clicks.
• When brightness has changed due to
the zoom or the movement of the
camera or other, the lens may click and
the picture on the screen may be
drastically changed, however, the
pictures are not affected.
The sound is caused by automatic
adjustment of the aperture.
It is not a malfunction.
8: The clock setting is reset.
• If you do not use the camera for a long
time, the clock setting may be reset.
When the message [PLEASE SET THE
CLOCK] appears, set the clock again.
• When you take a picture before setting
the clock, [0:00 0. 0. 0] is recorded.
9: Colors that were actually not around
the subject appear on the picture.
• This camera compensates the color
shift caused by the characteristic of the
lens. However, the color shift may
appear when you rotate the zoom lever
to Tele, etc.
This is not a malfunction.
