5. Replace canopy cover and brake pedal (see Canopy Cover
Replacement).
6. Replace hood (see Hood Replacement).
4.4. CANISTER MOTOR
4.4.1. Removal
1. Remove hood (see HOOD Removal).
2. Remove canopy cover (see CANOPY COVER Removal).
3. Remove the motor enclosure from the motor.
4. Remove white wire and black wire terminal from the motor.
4.4.2. Replacement
1. Attach white wire and black wire teminals to the new motor.
2. Replace the enclosure on the motor.
3. Place new motor in canister base
4. Replace canopy cover and brake pedal (see Canopy Cover
Replacement).
5. Replace hood (see Hood Replacement).
4.5. CARBON BRUSH
4.5.1. Removal
1. Complete brush change on one side before starting on the
other side.
2. There are two (2) brushes located on the motor as identified
in the illustration below.
3. Remove the brush assembly by using a Phillips head
screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the brush holder
onto the motor.
4. See the illustration above for screw location.
NOTE: Do not drop screws into the motor.
4.5.2. Replacement
1. Place new brush assembly on the motor.
2. Make sure that the amp terminal on the bottom of the brush
assembly is inserted into the receptacle on the motor.
3. Replace the Phillips screw that was removed.
4. Repeat steps in Removal & Replacement steps for the
other brush assembly.
NOTE: Do not drop screws into the motor.
