Using sound effects

When connected with headphones or the Rear Music Port (

Surround Music and the following sound effects may not be available or
have no effect. (Excluding Sound Field Control: HEAVY, CLEAR or
SOFT)

You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound
effects are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound effect
off.

If you turn on Dolby Pro Logic

, Sound Field Control (MOVIE, SPORT
or MUSIC) is canceled.
To enjoy the following sound quality settings, ensure that Surround Music
(

page 12) is turned off.

Each time you press the button:
FLAT:
Cancel (no effect is added) (factory preset).
MOVIE:
Use this mode when playing movie software.
SPORT:
Simulates sound to make you feel like you are at a sports event.
MUSIC:
Adds surround effects to stereo sources.
HEAVY:
Adds punch to rock.
CLEAR:
Clarifies higher sounds.
SOFT:
For background music.

To check the current setting, press [SFC].

MOVIE, SPORT and MUSIC are not available when Dolby Pro Logic

is on, or when playing a disc recorded with a multi-channel source.

You can adjust the volume of the surround speaker to get the best
surround effect (

This applies to discs where the dialogue is recorded in the center
channel.
You can make the sound of the center speaker seem
like it is coming from within the television.
