Do not make the video connections through the video cassette recorder.

Due to copy guard protection, the picture may not be displayed properly.

This connection provides a purer picture than the SCART (AV) terminal.

Connect to terminals of the same colour.

Necessary Settings

Select “Video/YPbPr” or “S-Video/YPbPr” from QUICK SETUP (

page 6). If “RGB/No Output” is selected, the

RGB signal is output from the SCART (AV) terminal, but no signal is output from the component video terminals.

To enjoy progressive video

Connect to a progressive output compatible television.
Set “Video Output Mode” to “480p” or “576p”, and then follow the instructions on the menu screen (

page 21,

Picture Menu, Operations Guide).

All Panasonic televisions with 625 (576)/50i·50p, 525 (480)/60i·60p input terminals are progressive compatible.
Consult the manufacturer if you have another brand of television.

This connection provides the best picture quality.

[Note]

Non-HDMI-compliant cables cannot be utilized.

It is recommended that you use Panasonic’s HDMI cable.
Recommended part number: RP-CDHG15 (1.5 m), RP-CDHG30 (3.0 m), RP-CDHG50 (5.0 m), etc.

When the HDMI cable is connected, there will be no video output from the SCART (AV) and COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
terminals of this unit.

Necessary Settings

Set “Video Mode” to “On” (

page 26, “HDMI” menu, Operations Guide).

Set “Video Output Mode” (

page 21, Picture Menu, Operations Guide).

VIERA Link “HDAVI Control”

If your Panasonic television is a VIERA Link compatible television, you can operate your television synchronising with
home-theater operations or vice versa (

page 28, Using the VIERA Link “HDAVI Control

TM

”, Operations Guide).

§

This audio connection will enable you to play audio from your television through your home theater system
(

page 32, Enjoying audio from the television, Operations Guide).
