Chapter 5 Troubleshooting
5-1 Troubleshooting of Emitter
Symptom Cause
Remedy
<Reference>
Check the wiring.
Check the power supply voltage and the power supply capacity.
Power is not being supplied.
Check that the power supply capacity is sufficient.
Connect the power supply correctly.
Power supply voltage is out of
the specified range.
Set the power supply voltage correctly.
All indicators are off.
Connector is not connected
securely.
Connect the connector securely.
Fault indicator (yellow)
lights up.
Setting data of the sensor: error
Check the noise status around the sensor.
When using
SF-HC
(optional), reset the function.
Even if the error is not cleared, contact Panasonic
Industrial Devices SUNX.
[1 blink]
Beam channel No. error
Connect the end cap correctly.
[2 blinks]
Series connection error
Connect the cable for series connection correctly.
[3 blinks]
Total unit No. / total beam
channel No. error
Set the number of series connection to 3 sets or
less.
Set the total number of beam channels for series
connection to 192 or less.
Fault indicator (yellow)
blinks.
[5 or more blinks]
Effect from noise / power supply
or failure of internal circuit
Check the noise status around the sensor.
Check the wiring status, power voltage, and power
source amount.
Even if the error is not cleared, contact Panasonic
Industrial Devices SUNX.
Emission is in halt condition
Connect the emission halt input to +9V to Vs.
(Note 1)
Synchronization line wiring fault
Wire the synchronization line correctly.
Emission halt / Emission
intensity control indicator
(orange) blinks. [Fault
indicator (yellow) is off]
Receiver not in operation
Check the receiver for abnormality.
All the beam-axis
alignment indicators
(red) light up in red
Light is received on the
beam-axis which is set the fix
blanking function from the emitter.
Turn on the power after checking the setting status.
Operation indicator
remains lit in red (light is
not received). (Note 2)
The beam channels of the
emitter and the receiver are not
correctly aligned.
Align the beam channels.
Notes: 1) Vs is the same voltage as the voltage of the power supply to be used.
2) Since the color of the operation indicator changes according to the ON / OFF state of the control output
(OSSD 1, OSSD 2), the operation indicator is marked as OSSD on the sensor.
If the device does not work normally after checking the items above, please consult
Panasonic Industrial Devices SUNX.
The blinking cycle of the fault indicator is shown as follows. Check the frequency of the
lighting after passing approx. 2 seconds of the lighting off.
