Troubleshooting (Advanced)
If the CD/DVD drive vibrates excessively or is noisy

Is the disc bent or labeled?
z
Check to see if the disc is inserted correctly, and is in good condition.
z
When writing to CD-R/RW using B’s Recorder, you can minimize vibration while writing by setting the writing speed at [8x]
or less.
The CD/DVD drive cannot be turned on or off
z
After turning off the CD/DVD drive, did you try to turn it on again immediately?
After turning off, you must wait for about 20 seconds until it is possible to turn on (or open the disc cover).
z
In the following cases, it is not possible to turn off using [Manual Switching] of the Optical Disc Drive Power-Saving Utility:
• During writing or reading of a disc
• When the drive is being used by an application such as B’s Recorder
Cannot eject disc
z
Check that the computer is turned on.
The drive power/open switch works only when the computer’s power is on.
When [CD/DVD Drive Power] is set to [Off] in the Setup Utility, it is not possible to open the disc cover unless Windows is
running.
z
Press the area on the upper left of the driver power/open switch to confirm that the disc cover is locked firmly.
The disc cover will only open if it is in the firmly locked position.
z
To remove a disc when the computer is turned off, insert a pointed object (e.g., the bent-out tip of a paper clip, or the tip of
a pencil or ballpoint pen) into the emergency hole on the bottom, and then move (
).
The sound is not heard
z
Try changing the mute by pressing

With the following procedure, check that the Windows sound function is operating.
(If it is not operating, pressing
