Chapter 3 Troubleshooting
006-355 FAN FAILURE
Description
IPS Fan failure.
BSD on : CH6.1 CH6.12A
Procedure
Enter
DC330
[006-014] and turn it On.
Is the IPS FAN revolving?
Y
N
Is +24 VDC measured between the IIT/IPS PWB J725-2
(+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Visually check the F6 Fuse on the IIT/IPS PWB.
Has the Fuse gone off?
Y
N
Turn Off the power. Disconnect the IIT LVPS
J702 and turn the power On.
Is +24 VDC measured between the IIT LVPS
J702-1 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Check the power (ACH) to the IIT LVPS.
If no problems are found, replace the IIT
LVPS. (PL16.4)
The possible reason for this failure is the short
circuit/open circuit of the J702 and onwards of
the IIT LVPS. Check for a short circuit by refer-
ring to Chapter 4 Wiring Data. (WN4.3.25
IIT+24 VDC)
Replace the IIT/IPS PWB. (PL16.3)
Enter
DC330
[006-014] and turn it On.
Is +24 VDC measured between the IIT/IPS PWB J722-B8
(+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Replace the IIT/IPS PWB. (PL16.3)
Turn the power Off. Check the conductivity of the
following. If no problems are found, replace the IPS FAN.

Between the IIT/IPS PWB J722-B8 and the IPS FAN
J738-1
Between the IIT/IPS PWB J722-B9 and the IPS FAN
J738-2
Between the IIT/IPS PWB J722-B10 and the IPS
FAN J738-3
Between the IIT/IPS PWB J722-B11 and the IPS
FAN J738-4
Is +5 VDC measured at the IIT/IPS J722-B10?
Y
N
Replace the IIT/IPS PWB. (PL16.3)
Replace the IPS FAN. (PL16.4)
006-360 CARRIAGE POSITION FAILURE
Description
The CRG Position error was detected.
BSD on : CH6.3 CH6.12A
Procedure
Turn Off the power. Remove the PLATEN GLASS.
Manually move the Full Rate Carriage.
Does the Carriage move without any load?
Y
N
Clear the CARRIAGE CABLE distortion, stranding,
damage and foreign substance on the CARRIAGE RAIL
etc, causing the load.
Turn On the power. Enter
DC330
[006-212] and turn it On.
Manually move the Full Rate Carriage and turn the IIT REGI
SENSOR On/Off.
Is the display switched between H and L?
Y
N
Repair the IIT REGI SENSOR using 3.3.3.2 Generic
Permeable Sensor Failure FIP.
Enter
DC330
[06-005] (SCAN) or
DC330
[06-006] (RETURN)
and turn it On.
Does the CARRIAGE MOTOR operate?
Y
N
Is +24 VDC measured between the IIT/IPS PWB J725-2
(+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Visually check the F6 Fuse on the IIT/IPS PWB.
Has the Fuse gone off?
Y
N
Turn Off the power. Disconnect the IIT LVPS
J702 and turn the power On.
Is +24 VDC measured between the IIT LVPS
J702-1 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Check the power (ACH) to the IIT LVPS.
If no problems are found, replace the IIT
LVPS. (PL16.4)
