Chapter 3 Troubleshooting
Remove the other mechanical causes of the STACKER
TRAY not operating.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
012-255 STACKER TRAY UPPER LIMIT
FAILURE
Description
In either one of the following cases:
• The system detected that the STACKER TRAY UPPER
LIMIT SENSOR was turned On after the STACKER
TRAY had begun lifting up.
• The system detected that the STACKER TRAY UPPER
LIMIT SENSOR remained On when lowering down of the
STACKER TRAY has completed.
BSD on : CH11.10A CH11.10B CH11.11B
Procedure
Enter
DC330
[012-202] and turn it On.
Turn On/Off the UPPER LIMIT SENSOR.
Is the display switched between H and L?
Y
N
Check the UPPER LIMIT SENSOR using the Generic
Permeable Sensor Failure FIP.
Turn
DC330
[012-051] (DOWN) On.
Did the STACKER TRAY lower?
Y
N
Was the operating sound of the STACKER MOTOR
audible?
Y
N
With
DC330
[012-050] (DOWN) running
Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB
J847-11 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER
PWB J844-4 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Check the INTLK ON +24 VDC circuit to
the FINISHER PWB J844-4 by referring to
the BSD CH11.1.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-12 and the
STACKER MOTOR J889-1
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-11 and the
STACKER MOTOR J889-2
If no problems are found, replace the STACKER
MOTOR (PL15.11) and the FINISHER PWB
(PL15.13) in sequence.
Check the following:
• The STACKER MOTOR GEAR for wear and damage
• The STACKER TRAY for dragging and improper
installation
• The STACKER ELEVATOR BELT/RACK/GEAR for
wear and damage
Remove the other mechanical causes of the STACKER
TRAY not operating.

Was the operating sound of the STACKER MOTOR
audible?

Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB
J847-12 (+) and GND (-)?

Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER
PWB J844-4 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Check the INTLK ON +24 VDC circuit to
the FINISHER PWB J844-4 by referring to
the BSD CH11.1.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-12 and the
STACKER MOTOR J889-1
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-11 and the
STACKER MOTOR J889-2
If no problems are found, replace the STACKER
MOTOR (PL15.11) and the FINISHER PWB
(PL15.13) in sequence.
Check the following:
• The STACKER MOTOR GEAR for wear and damage
• The STACKER TRAY for dragging and improper
installation
• The STACKER ELEVATOR BELT/RACK/GEAR for
wear and damage
Remove the other mechanical causes of the STACKER
TRAY not operating.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
012-256 STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR ON
FAILURE
Description
In either one of the following cases:
• The STAPLER FRONT CORNER SENSOR does not turn
On within 2sec after starting to move to FRONT
CORNER.
• The STAPLER FRONT CORNER SENSOR remained On
when starting to move to FRONT CORNER.
BSD on : CH11.7 CH11.11B
Procedure
Open the FINISHER FRONT COVER. Turn the STAPLE
HEAD ASSEMBLY manually.
Does the STAPLE HEAD move smoothly without any load?
Though it is possible to run the following Diag on
the machine not installed with the Finisher, an error
will be displayed.
