ADJ1. 1.
12 IIT Vertical/Horizontal Magnification
Purpose
To correct the horizontal (fast scan)/vertical (slow scan) magnification ratio for a 100%
copy.
Check
1. Place the Test Chart (499T247) on the Platen Glass correctly and make a copy in the
following copy mode:
• Copy Mode: Black
• Document Type: Text/Photo
• Paper: 11 x 17"
• Magnification: 100%
• No. of Copies: 2
2.
Check the 2nd copy for the following: (Fig. 1)
(1) At Horizontal magnification: (Fig. 1)
Check that the distance between the two points is 200 ± 1 mm or the same as the
dimension on the Test Chart.
If the value is not within the specified range, adjust it following the steps below:
(2) At Vertical magnification: (Fig. 2)
Check that the distance between the two points is 300 ± 1.5 mm or the same as the
dimension on the Test Chart.
If the value is not within the specified range, adjust it following the steps below:
(Fig. 1)
(Fig. 1) j0mf40956
(Fig. 2)
(Fig. 2) j0mf40957
Adjustment
Horizontal Magnification Adjustment
Try to avoid performing this procedure. This procedure should be performed only
when the actual IIT magnification is not correct.
Before performing this procedure, make sure that the IOT horizontal/vertical
magnification ratios are correct.
Refer to Fig. 1 and 2 for this procedure.
This adjustment may cause the following secondary problems:
• Deterioration of resolution because of the ASIC digital correction.
