POWER UNIT CONSUMPTION TABLE
STEP 1:
Using Table 4, calculate the total number of power units (PU) required by each device, module, and accessory in the system. Please take into
account devices connected to the control panel’s PGM outputs. Since the
B ELL
output has its own power supply, do not include the sirens
connected to it in the calculation
STEP 2:
If the Grand Total is less than 700PU, go to step 3. If the value is greater, you will require an external power supply (see
External Power Supply

drawing on page 46) to provide the additional power needed. Proceed with step 3 and refer to the example (

STEP 3:
Due to the degradation of a power signal over long distances (if this were the case, we recommend connecting a

length or run of wire in the system can support only a specific number of power units (PU). Using Table 5,
determine how many power units each length of wire can support. Please note that the total number of power units (PU) can never surpass
700PU.
