Introduction
The PMC-5 plug-in memory key with USB / 5-pin connector allows download or upload of
system programming between modules and WinLoad.
Copy and Download to or from the
Module or Panel (D*)
1) Insert the memory key onto the module
or panel’s connector labelled “
MEM
KEY
”.
Ensure that the lock switch is set on the
open padlock position.
2) Enter the module or panel’s
programming and enter section number.
(
Refer to the appropriate installation
manual for the required 3 or 4-digit
section number.)
3) Once a confirmation beep is emitted, to
ensure a complete transfer, wait a few
seconds before removing the memory
key.
4) Set the lock switch to the closed
padlock position to protect the memory
key’s contents

Copy or download using WinLoad (A*)
1) Insert the memory key onto the PC’s
USB connector and open WinLoad.
The memory key’s blue LED will flash
during the transfer. The blue LED will
stop flashing once the transfer is
complete.
2) From the WinLoad menu, click
setup
followed by
Connection
. The
connection setting box appears.
3) Click on
memory key
tab and choose
COM Port identified as memory Key.
4) Right click on the module and choose
Mem Key to PC
or
PC to Mem Key
from the drop down menu.

WinLoad Software V4.0
Refer to the appropriate installation manual to verify if the memory key is compatible with
the selected control panel or module.
Lock Switch (C*)
Copy and download content of the key.
Prevents overwriting content of key.
Blue LED (B*)
Flashes
only during transfer
between the key and the
PC.
