Overview
This document highlights government requirements, safety warnings, installation procedures, features, and
functions that are unique to COMSPHERE
R 3900 Series modems installed within the United Kingdom. This
document is intended to be used in conjunction with the COMSPHERE 3900 Series Modems, Models 3910 and
3911 Point-to-Point/Multipoint, Installation and Operation Manual, Document No. 3910-A2-GN32. Please
consult this Installation and Operation Manual for overall operation of the 3900 Series modem.
Government Requirements for Great Britain
APPROVED for connection to Telecommunication systems
specified in the instructions for use subject to the conditions
set out in them.
Facilities
This apparatus has been approved for use of the following facilities:

Modem
•
Loudspeaking
•
Automatic call initiation
•
Detection of Initial Proceed Indication
•
Auto Answering
•
Operation in the absence of proceed indication
•
Auto Clear from the call originating end
•
Storage of telephone numbers for retrieval by a predetermined code
•
Multifrequency and Loop Disconnect signalling
Any other usage will invalidate the approval of the apparatus if as a result it then ceases to comply with the
standards against which approval was granted.
When entering network addresses into the dialling directory, please ensure that the telephone numbers are
correct.
